If I put higher speed rated tires on my motorcycle, will they upgrade performance?

The straight answer to this question is "no." When a motorcycle manufacturer decides on the tires for a particular model, they make sure that the speed rating of the tire meets the maximum speed capability of the motorcycle. If you fit higher speed-rated tires, there is a good chance that you will sacrifice some other performance aspect such as mileage. This being the case, it is usually best to stay with the speed rating of the original tires. They're all you really need.
