Dunlop riders shine in 2009 AMA ATV Motocross Championship series opener |

Buffalo, NY: Perfect weather and a packed house at California’s Glen Helen Raceway greeted the opening round of the 2009 AMA ATV Motocross Championship series, and Dunlop riders made an outstanding showing throughout a full day of racing.
In Quadcross action, Can-Am pilot Jeremie Warnia pulled off a most impressive double win on the day in both the Open Pro and 450 Pro Production classes. Fellow Can-Am rider Josh Fredericks captured the runner-up spot and Romain Couprie rounded out the Open Pro podium on his Yamaha to give Dunlop the podium sweep. Couprie likewise earned the third podium spot in 450 Pro Production, where four of the top 10 riders raced on Dunlop Quadmax Sport radial tires. Other Quadcross events saw Dunlop racers Dillon Zimmerman push his Can-Am to the win in the 450 Production Expert class and Adrienne Cooper nail down the runner-up spot in the 450 Production Intermediate class aboard a Honda.
The furious action in the two-moto ATV Pro Motocross event saw Honda-mounted Joe Byrd chalk up a hard-earned podium spot with 3-2 finishes as three more Dunlop riders filled out the top 10: Byrd’s Honda-mounted protégé Clay Holmes launched off his rookie season with an impressive fifth place, while Can-Am rider Jeremy Lawson took seventh and Josh Upperman guided his Honda to ninth place.
The next stop for the AMA ATV Motocross Championships in 2009 takes the series east to Pell City, Alabama for the FMF Spring Nationals at Mill Creek Raceway on March 21 and 22 where the amateur classes will join the series with their opening round of the season.
